History

Laboratory to Product (LABTOP) Centre at the University of Ilorin was launched into operation in September 2015 with a foundational mandate to create synergy between the researchers at the University and the industry. The goals of the Centre among others are to: work with researchers at the university to develop research ideas to usable industrial-scale products, provide solution to identified needs of the industry; and encourage the industry through demonstrable skill capacity and to fund researches at the University of Ilorin.

The centre  saddled with the responsibility to facilitate patency of research projects by acting as an intermediary between researchers/staff of the University and National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP).
