Mandate

Laboratory to Product (LABTOP) Centre is established to create a link with industries for the purpose of promoting wide knowledge and application of the outcomes of research results with potential for industrial and National Development.

The centre is also saddled with the responsibility to facilitate patency of research projects by acting as an intermediary between researchers/staff of the University and National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) which is an agency under the aegis of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology. NOTAP was established by Decree No. 70 of 1979, as the National Office of Industrial Property (NOIP).
